Lurgy is abating. I am really, really enjoying feeling so well. I walked, and my leg didn't go numb or get shaky! I cooked, and the meal turned out ok, because I didn't forget/overcook/undercook anything.
I met some of the Early Morning Coffee Brigade today, and one of the guys said, "Wow, you look great!" (Well, shucks.) It's lovely to be told you look well when you feel well.
When you don't feel well, the "you look great" tends to be along the lines of...
THEM: "So, you'll be at X function, right?"
ME: "Er, probably not. Not feeling so good today."
THEM: "Really? Well you LOOK great!"
It's not that you want to look like death-warmed-over, its just hard to feel you have to justify yourself all the time.
Mind you, I noticed that I am getting permanent creases in my forehead, and in photos of my trip, my under-eye bags are not because I'm tired, they appear to be part of my face now. That would be middle-age starting to catch up with me, eh?
Age, per se, doesn't bother me anymore. Vigorous old age beats youth and infirmity any day.
