Had coffee with a friend and we trolled some local specialty fabric stores. Frotted some fabulously expensive fabric. There's a store that specialises in end-of-run Italian Designer fabrics and things generally start at $60p.m. and go up from there. I kid you not there was plenty in teh $120-200 price bracket. You gotta love a silk jersey. And 100% superfine merino jersey is pretty ok too. Let's not even get started on the embroidered angora/silk mix. Good fun stuff.
The doctor put hubby onto a cough suppresant elixir. It's mostly Codeine, so I imagine he'll be sleeping very well in the nights to come. If he needs more of it, he has to go back to the doctor, because they're not allowed to give out repeat scripts of this one. I promptly dubbed it his "happy juice". Dr told him that his lungs are no longer infected, but the residual cough could last for a further six weeks. I told him to mail me the divorce papers... He laughed nervously.
Possibly in a bid to keep us out of divorce court, Hubby took us off to see Bridge to Terabithia. Good movie. I'd read reviews that made me scared to see it, but I liked it. Not fare for the under-10s, but then it was never meant to be, cute creatures notwithstanding. I am a bit concerned at one reviewer who felt there was not enough demarcation of the "now we are pretending in Terabithia" bits. If the giants, trolls, flying monsters, etc. were not enough to convince the reviewer, I don't know what would be...
Hate to admit that I was pretty tempted to go and see Blades of Glory but I think I chose the wiser path.
Had chocolate pudding (a half-serve, thus blowing the 20gms fat out of teh water, but also topping up on valuable anti-oxidants) and a glass of port at a cafe on the way home from the Cinema. The lovely young waitress told us her parents like to suck their port through a chocolate coated teddybear biscuit. She obviously thought we were old like her parents, so we'd probably enjoy it too. Young folk can be so sweet sometimes.
While waiting for the film to start I was browsing in Borders, and found a great textbook on Neurological Biology. It's only AUD$165 if anyone wants to chip in for my half-birthday...
