Wow, the bruising on the small of my back just gets better! Purple-black with dark green shading. Thought the hospital were being a wee bit overreactive when they insisted on X-raying my pelvis, now I'm relieved because otherwise I'd think it had to be fractured to hurt so much. Makes sitting or lying down 'a challenge'.
Last night had my first experience of the Endone only slightly reducing the pain. Thanks to Hubby and
erudito for keeping a very cranky moocow company. Endured four & a half hours till I said, 'Sod it, I'm taking another.' Hubby loaded me cautiously into bed, with a heatpak and a hand massage and was a bit startled when I started crying because the pain had stopped!!!
While surfing the net last night I found a bulletin board of people with broken humeri - it was very reassrring. Two to three weeks seems to be the pain timetable - one poster even noting: 'the pain just went away even though my bone hadn't regrown noticeably'. I should get a nice fibreglass (aka washable) splint in a couple of weeks.
Ran into the local pharmacist today who told me that 4 hrly pain meds is not unreasonable at this stage. The world is conspiring to turn me into a drug addict, clearly!
