Feeling more cheery today. The pain meds seem to be working better - I am able to be pain free without being a bit fuzzy round the edges. I have made it to 6hr intervals between the Endone, rather than 5 (or about 4.5 on Friday). Most of my strained muscles are healing, which means I can get myself in & out of bed unassisted too - the things we take for granted, eh? This morning I wiggled out of my singlet & undies on my own. Hubby said, 'Don't do that I'm coming!' I did the classic 2yo thing: 'Me do! Me do myself!' I'm off to the GP for a repeat script of the Endone because even at the new rate I only have enough left to see me through till 6am tomorrow. The trip into the surgery is a problem because our car has very odd suspension - not something I've ever noticed before - and Melbourne features many tramtracks & speed bumps, neither of which is my friend just at the minute.

Happy Birthday to Hubby. Poor man, his special day is being hijacked by his role as my carer. He's received a birthday SMS from both sisters so far, and our local coffee shop gave him a friand with the works AND said they wouldn't sing - so I guess it's not all bad. Still starting your day with the 45 min process of bathing & dressing your wife can't add much to the festivities. I guess theoretically it could be a saucy & provocative experience, but in reality not so much.

Advent Carol Service went well last night. I stayed seated throughout. I was complimented on being able to reach the high notes while sitting down - decided not to tell anyone I was pretty sure I would faint if I tried to stand. Overall we were in better voice & ensemble than we've ever been before - with fewer flubbed notes. So it was all rather jolly. I have discovered that my broken arm is rather sensitive to the low notes on the organ, which set up a rather unpleasant buzzing sensation. So I need to depart before the organ solo in future.

I am teaching myself to write left-handed. In only 2 days' practice I have achieved legibility - and only about 5 times slower than writing with my right hand. Everybody's gotta have a hobby, eh?
